EHC Accreditation

Oxfordshire

  • To provide the EHC service, the pharmacy must be listed on the Oxfordshire Council Dynamic Approved Provider List (DAPL) and have applied to provide the EHC  service.
  • All pharmacists involved in the service must have a valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check.
  • All pharmacists providing the service must have read and signed the PGD.
  • Pharmacists providing the service must meet the training requirements which are as follows:
    • Pharmacists can self-certify by meeting the standards required in the CPPE Declaration of Competence for Community Pharmacy Services – Emergency Contraception. This must be completed at least every two years and your CPD should support your on-going competence in this field.
    • Attendance at face-to-face training is no longer compulsory, however you must:
    • Complete the EHC PGD in Oxfordshire online training which can be found here.
    • Complete OSCB Level 1 Safeguarding training

Berkshire

  • To provide the EHC service, the pharmacy must hold a signed contract with the local Public Health team. All pharmacists involved in the service must have a valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check. All pharmacists providing the service must have read and signed the PGD. Pharmacists providing the service must meet the training requirements which are as follows:
  • Pharmacists can self-certify by meeting the standards required in the CPPE Declaration of Competence for Community Pharmacy Services – Emergency Contraception. This must be completed at least every three years and your CPD should support your on-going competence in this field.
  • There is no requirement to attend face-to face training.
