Health Champion Training and RSPH Assessment

Pharmacy Thames Valley are funding an evening workshop for Health Champion assessments. All Healthy Living Pharmacies (HLP) must have at least one full-time equivalent Health Champion who has passed the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) – the Level 2 award in Understanding Health Improvement. The individual taking the award is normally a healthcare assistant or another member of the team working most of their day interacting with people coming into the pharmacy. The training and assessment is being provided by Pharmacy Complete, the specialists in Healthy Living Pharmacy.

The workshop will cover the HLP context, the Health Champion role, revision of the course syllabus and the formal assessment. The LPC is funding the event management and costs, and the distance-learning course and assessment fee at the event is funded by the pharmacy contractor; an LPC preferential price of £55 + a £20 RSPH assessment fee has been agreed with Pharmacy Complete.

Please note: by registering for this workshop, you are agreeing to fund this course and will be invoiced directly at the time of sending.

It is very important that all delegates complete the distance-learning workbook (7-8 hours of self-directed learning) before they attend so that they are prepared to take the assessment when they attend. Therefore we would recommend that you enrol as soon as possible to ensure that the candidate receives their workbook in plenty of time before coming to the workshop.

Timing: registration at 6:30pm for a prompt 7:00pm start; finish at 9:30pm

Catering: only light refreshments will be available on the night, no food.

When a candidate passes their assessment they will receive a certificate and Health Champion badge; these are usually available 2-3 weeks after the assessment date following RSPH marking.
