Topic and Speakers: The EU Falsified Medicine Directive – Implications for the dispensing of medicines.

The Falsified Medicine Directive (2011/62/EU) will become live in Europe in February 2019. Thames Valley LPF already heard about the directive back in 2016 when Sue Kilby talked to our hub in Slough about anti-counterfeiting measures for medicinal products that will affect pharmacists working across sectors.

Sue Kilby, Chair of the Industrial Pharmacists Forum RPS, will be joining us again to introduce this interactive session where Bernard Naughton, PhD candidate at Keele University and researcher at the University of Oxford, will present his work regarding the impact of the FMD on the dispensing of medicines.

You will be invited to participate in a Q&A at the end of the talk and you are welcome to post your questions ahead of the event to the RPS website (Thames Valley LPF page).

The meeting will be chaired by Ian G Simpson MBE FRPharmS FFRPS DMS, member of the RPS Thames Valley Steering Group and Chair of the RPS Retired Pharmacists’ Group.
